Today’s motivational nudge – do a little less, do what’s more important – do it with greater care

We all need the reminder to let go of distractions and focus on priorities every once in awhile. Here is this week’s reminder:

This week, de-clutter your to do list and pick out the most important thing to focus on fully. Be intentional about letting go of all the things that are nice-to-dos and not truly a priority.

This week, spend more time with loved ones with the goal of truly listening and being present. Take that time to listen with your full attention for a few more minutes in a conversation. Pick up the phone to call someone for no reason. Do all the little things that foster connection and add more meaning to everyday interactions.

This week, take care of your health. Eat healthy foods, exercise, get outside, enjoy being able to do what you can do in this moment. Commit to making this week the week that you truly focus on being there for yourself.

This week, do what brings you joy. Even if it seems like you’re frittering away your time, stop for a minute and dance to your favorite music in the middle of the day or find something funny to read for a few moments. Bring lightness and optimism into each day this week.

This week, make one thing simpler for yourself. Repair that one thing that’s been annoying you for a long time, prep those meals so your week is easier — do one thing that will make your week run more smoothly.

Most of all, have a great week!

  1. I keep trying to do this, but fail a lot. I always remind myself to do less, but better. But then I get distracted by the new shiny thing that’s not even in my to-do list. I guess it’s a never-ending journey, eh? Thanks for this reminder!
