Hmmm..
Like so many of us, I’ve been trying out an AI tool for fun. I wanted to see what all the hoopla was about.
I didn’t try the infamous chatGPT. I briefly looked at another(I think similar?) tool called Notion AI. I wanted to see if AI tools have a sense of humor so I asked it the following question:
“How long does it take to get to the moon on a bus?”
The response was:
“It is impossible to answer this question as there is currently no road to the moon. Furthermore, a bus is not capable of traveling to the moon as it does not have the necessary propulsion system. In order to travel to the moon, a spacecraft capable of sustaining an environment suitable for human life would be needed.”
Hmmm…How very accurate, but I wanted it to say something funny, so I prompted it again.
“Tell me a joke about going to the moon on a bus.”
The response was:
“Q: What do you call it when you try to go to the moon on a bus?
A: A mission impossible!“
Floored :)..I mean, at least it’s a joke..!
Have you tried any of the AI tools yet? Do you foresee using them in your everyday life?

I keep hearing that AI is going to take over everything..just had to try; I think comedians are safe for now :)..

I’ve seen a couple of haiku’s written by ChatGPT. They were excellent. My core group of bloggers each wrote a post about AI. Beginning of the end?

Good to know :)..I wonder if AI will eventually dampen creativity. I hope that doesn’t happen.

Wow. I’m quite impressed it came up with a decent joke! And it happens pretty much instantly too, doesn’t it? That’s… a little bit scary.

I know..it was a bit surprising and slightly scary; lots of potential there but I think it needs to be used wisely!

Oh, for sure. The terrible thing is, students can use it to write papers for them. That’s bad news.

Agree, and it is tough for teachers to figure out whether they did or not – more in-class pop quizzes I guess :).
