Have you every had the feeling that you want to do less but you also want to do more… that you’d like a little more peace but maybe a little more excitement would be nice too… that you’d love for everyone to leave you alone but also wouldn’t mind if people reached out and showed that they cared?

Maybe it’s time to figure out what these contradictions are about, connect to what we truly need, and laugh at ourselves just a little!

Maybe the truth of it is that we need a serene oasis of a few hours of peace followed by the addition of a tiny spoon of excitement to that concoction that makes up a perfect day…

An hour of alone time just to be and then a half hour of truly meaningful connection…

Permission to be immersed in couch potato mode for a little while along with the motivation to get out of that mode when it’s time to get things done…

I think it can alleviate stress when we accept exactly where we are in this very moment and embrace taking the action that provides us with what we truly need in the here and now.

Today’s motivational nudge is: If you’re feeling that pull of contradicting emotions, choose to honor the emotion that comes from a place of genuine need in this moment by deeply listening to your mind, body and spirit.
If you’re feeling tired but know you need to get things done, stop, take a break, and then work on your top priority task after. If you’re overwhelmed by distraction but would love more connection, step away from busy work and take the time to truly connect with loved ones.

This week, listen to what your mind, body and spirit truly need and do exactly that.

Have a great week!
This fits exactly how I’m feeling. I want quiet time, but I want to connect with friends. I have the taxes to finish, but I want to read a book. Thank you!

I think the conscience is always a good compass to follow. This means I’ll have to disregard my feelings sometimes, because that’s a worse guide than my conscience. Most times, my feeling will follow my actions anyway. So every day I try to listen to my true self, even though it can be hard differentiating the different voices sometimes. Thanks for this reminder!

The conscience is definitely a good gps and worth listening to consistently. I like that you’re making the distinction between feelings and what our conscience tells us :)..thanks for stopping by! Have a great week.
