I think that it is perfectly possible to shop up a storm all while convincing yourself that you’re creating abundance..and yet, be in a place of scarcity when making those decisions.

The Cambridge Dictionary online defines abundance as “the situation in which there is more than enough of something” or “an amount that is more than enough“.

Historically, prosperity and abundance have been linked to sufficient agricultural output or having more than enough food for your family at all times.

In modern times, I think the goal post for what we consider “abundance” continues to change.
This can be linked to the beauty of modern marketing techniques that create that feeling of “I must have that thing or I won’t be current or happy or good enough or beautiful or in tune with the latest in technological innovation” … or any number of thoughts that create that urgency to purchase something..

It can also be associated with our need to connect to something that we think will make us happier because we aren’t always connected to other sources of abundance that can fulfill us.

So how can we move from that place of feeling like we have scarcity in our lives to a place of grounded abundance even if we have a minimal amount of “stuff”?

Maybe measuring ourselves with a different standard could be one place to start.
What if we were to start with the certainty that we were enough, that we have enough and that things are not the only answer..?
What if we decided that a scarcity mindset was also setting us up to be less empowered and we actively replaced those feelings of inadequacy with specific purpose that had nothing to do with creating an abundance of physical things?

Yes, I’m talking to you Cyber Monday 🙂.

Wishing you a peaceful and scarcity-mindset-free Cyber Monday.
Have a great week!
I must be in the right mindset. I hadn’t even realised it was Cyber Monday. I’ve spent £2.25 today on some new rubber feet to go on my clothes airer. That’s it. I’m happy 😊

Things are never the answer. Time spent well, that seems like richness to me.
