If you’re very creative and inspired by new, innovative and beautiful things, you may tend to buy more things just to add an element of novelty to your day-to-day.

I think that the appeal of fast fashion is also an appeal to our sense of aesthetics and our need to give voice to our identity through our physical possessions.

Oddly, though, I think that reducing our physical possessions can spark more creativity because we have the room to breathe, think and grow.

Not purchasing the new and beautiful color or design can give room for creatively redesigning how we place things aesthetically in our homes or figuring out how to DIY something that is even more artistic than something bought off-the-shelf.

Today’s motivational nudge is: Instead of purchasing things as a way to fill that need to be creative and express yourself differently over time, use that impulse to choose to be creative in your life without always purchasing that new thing.
Have a great week!
I think I have this under control in the clothing and home decor categories. Now I need to stop over indulging in art supplies!
