There are so many corrosive ideas that can whittle away at a strong sense of self.
Here are two that so many of us have given space to in our minds at one point or another:
“I’m not enough until I can accomplish _____ (fill in the blank)”.
“I’m too old/young/cynical/(something) to be able to _____ (fill in the blank)”.
There is so much to think about when it comes to how we talk to ourselves.
If we were to take the time to delve deeper into ways we impact our own confidence and self esteem negatively, we could observe and start to step away from thought processes that affect us negatively.
Instead of focusing on what what we aren’t or what we can’t do, we can choose to make the choice to embrace exactly who we are and aim for exactly what elevates us and brings positivity into our daily lives.

Aspiring fully for what inspires us deeply can seem scary. Rather than allowing that self-doubt or trepidation to take over, think of how you can live out loud in a way that gives you strength and confidence.
Today’s motivational nudge is – If you notice yourself contracting and feeling pulled down by insecure thoughts, call those thoughts out. Then, do something proactive that brings you closer to accomplishing your hopes and dreams instead.

Have a great weekend!

I love this. I often think of the saying “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks” and how people use that as an excuse not to do something new once they reach a certain age. There are no excuses. I argue the dog is old because he stopped learning new tricks. We have to believe in ourselves because, if we don’t who will?

Completely agree, I think sometimes we give ourselves a certain label and allow that label to define who we are instead of ignoring labels and deciding to be whatever we want to be. We definitely need to believe in ourselves :)..thanks for stopping by and commenting!
