This week’s phrase of the week : “persevering to prevail”

A synonym of “to prevail” is “to overcome”.

Perseverance is a decision to continue to work on achieving a goal despite all the challenges that may or may not be within our control.

All the news of the world at this moment in time has given me pause, even more so than usual. All the uncertainty and stress in the world, in some ways, can sometimes make each of us feel helpless about changing anything.

I think that in the middle of all of this, there is this need to stay optimistic, to keep doing what we can that has a positive impact within our own spheres of influence and to keep making that decision to make an intentional effort to contribute to what is positive and brings peace in our own lives and in others’. There is the need to keep persevering in order to prevail through uncertain times.

Now more than ever, we need to resolve little conflicts in our own lives with that ever important question – “Will this matter a year from now?” – and if it will, then maybe we need to prioritize spending the time to truly listen and resolve an issue rather than letting it go or waiting till it takes on a life of its own.

Now more than ever, we need to keep finding ways to be positive and to keep taking initiative to keep striving for our own goals and to contribute to what’s good in our own communities and beyond.

  1. I can do nothing about international politics but if I stay calm and care for my patch of the planet and the people I encounter than who knows what the effect will be? We are all connected and adding to the love certainly cannot cause harm!

  2. I have been kinda ill, and that’s been taking meaning away from my goals, that’s for sure. I really underestimated how much my physical being matters when it comes to my goals and plans. Anyway, thanks for this post!
