I think that we’ve all turned toward being on some sort of device more than ever in the past year. Whether we’re zooming to attend meetings, texting, watching something online or just spending time in front of the TV, we’ve been distracted more than in the past.
While the levels of stress are higher and it is normal for us to be more distracted, I think that this is an even more important time to connect with others and be present in our own lives. This is a time to figure out creative ways to build and strengthen relationships and reach out more than we used to so we can counter the higher levels of social isolation that so many are experiencing.

Today’s motivational nudge is to be more intentional and present throughout the day. Here are some ways to be more present:
- Stop and talk to people a little more in your life today. Take the time to listen more, initiate conversation more and be there fully with them.
- Spend more time with your pets if you have them.
- Call someone you haven’t talked to in awhile and spend time catching up.
- Spend time in nature or being still at home without any distractions and take the time to connect back to what is important to you.
- Be present as you work on any task during the day. Pay close attention to how you do it. Do it well and with intention.
- Take the time to unplug and enjoy an activity you’ve been meaning to get to for awhile.
I Love this post! ❤️ I’ve been doing many things you have listed. Being present in the here and now is so important for our mental health. Great motivational nudge! 😍

Sometimes we do just go through the motions. Being more intentional in all we do is great advice.
